“Die Burger” Is an Afrikaans Newspaper and to celebrate its 100th birthday, this Newspaper decided to host a group exhibition – curated by Sandra Hanekom- during the “Suidoosterfees” from 28 April to 3 May 2015. Each invited artist received a theme that involves a story/stories featured in this Newspaper through the years.
Topics I received to interpret : Glenda Kemp and Zola Budd.
and this is what I’ve done:
Toe ek gevra is om
die temas rondom
Glenda Kemp en Zola
Budd vir hierdie uitstalling
te verken,
het ek besluit om ’n
vintagefoto
vir Glenda
te gebruik, aangesien
ek geen idee
het hoe sy deesdae
lyk nie. Ek het ook
gewonder of sy ooit
aan haar slang, Oupa,
dink.
Aspoestertjie!
