Our Mother who art our beloved earth…Happy Mothers day.
I recently learned about some of Mother Natures amazing creatures via a very entertaining series called: Absurd Planet:
I am in awe of some of the amazing tricks these creatures have to be able to survive in very interesting conditions, which made me think about a character in a Roald Dahl book….
“I thought up secret plans and clever tricks” said the crocodile in the story: The enormous crocodile by Roald Dahl.
Its great to give, but it is wonderful to receive as well.
A couple of weekends ago I received these wonderful items from a dear friend:
She said that the spider is supposed to represent me. (i adore that since i adore spiders and we used to have one like that living in our house- we named her ‘spinderella’ and the kids loved her as well. They were told not to harm her, but also not to touch her since I dont know if she will bite). The frogs is supposed to represent my husband and two sons – I always believed fairy tales when they said that frogs can turn into princes.)
My husband brought me a bat he found while walking from work. I don’t have a picture of it yet since it is still need to dry out properly.
Today was mothers day and my son gave me this:
they made it at school. As well as some flowers from all of them with my cup of coffee in bed!
all of the above are the type of gifts that inspire.
Years ago i received chicken legs from a friend. Luckily I drew them since the dogs got hold of them and gobbled them up.
Recently I paged through all my old papers/sketchbooks and found the drawing of the chicken legs I made. I tore the page in order to manipulate it more and stitched and glued them to a new piece I am working on:
Paper doll #2: Souvenir Portrait
So whenever you find a dead frog or something in the road, feel free to drop it into the mail for me…..
