
I imagined this group as a therapy session going nowhere. Everyone was there. Everyone was listening, yet no one said a word. The masks turned out that way on their own – One too cheerful, one completely blank, and one somewhere in between. I stitched the thread between them like a thought that keeps moving – polite, circling, a thought that never quite reaches completion. It is funny and also a little sad. We sit together, we mean well, and somehow we still miss each other.

‘They are not talking at this talking therapy group’ is currently included in a group exhibition titled: ‘Tomorrow is listening’ at Rus-en-Vrede gallery until 8 August 2026.
